  33. I'm in the process of constructing my own Pentium-based system. I work 
  34. part-time in a computer store and the systems we sell are based on the 
  35. Asus motherboards. I would like to install a PVR and daughtercard in the 
  36. Asus single chip Pentium board, but it appears, by visual inspection only, 
  37. that it might not fit. The PVR alone might squeeze into the PCI/ISA 
  38. shared slot, but I'm not sure about the video-capture daughtercard. I 
  39. would prefer using the Asus boards, as they are of extremely high-quality 
  40. and contain excellent features (ie, 2 built-in serial ports, 1 parallel, 
  41. 2 floppy, and Enhanced IDE controllers).

  43. Thus, my question. Will the dual-chip Asus board handle both the PVR and 
  44. the daughtercard without any problems? If so, does it block an additional 
  45. PCI slot or one of the ISA slots? If not, can anyone elso out there 
  46. recommend any other MB manufacturers that do have PCI slots unobscured by 
  47. the fan, heat sink and cpu? Or would it be best just to use the DPS PCI
  48. extender?  Unfortunately, our systems vendor isn't very up-to-speed in
  49. these matters. :-(
